Prebiotic Complex

Bacteria.  Most of us are busy with anti-bacterial this and that yet our colon requires bacteria to maintain health.  Not all bacteria is bad.  In fact, many bacteria are very good and vital for our good health.

When we are ill or when we've taken medications like antibiotics the microorganisms in our colon take a big hit.  Antibiotics kill them and illness can upset the balance required for good health.  You've probably heard that it's a good idea to eat a lot of yogurt when you're taking antibiotics to keep your gut healthy.  There is truth to that!  Yogurt, however, isn't enough to maintain balance.  It is this intestinal bacteria that aids in our digestion but also is a big part of our immune system.

Prebiotics are nutrients that are not digested but provide an energy source for the friendly bacteria so they can not only survive but thrive.  Sometimes we need to give these microorganisms a little TLC.

Preliminary evidence shows that prebiotics may have a role in:
  • Improving diarrhea
  • Improving gastroenteritis
  • Normalizing bowel function
  • Improving colitis
  • Reducing irritable bowel problems
  • Aiding calcium absorption
  • Boosting your immune system

Optiflora® Prebiotic Complex provides a welcome environment for the friendly, beneficial bacteria that live and work in the colon. This pleasant-tasting powder provides nutrients—including FOS and inulin—that selectively feed friendly bacteria, encouraging their growth and multiplication.  More healthy bacteria in the intestines support a healthy digestive and immune system.  Optiflora Prebiotic Complex® is certified Kosher and Gluten Free.
